Arzachena History

The town of Arzachena stands on a granite hill and is the administrative center of the Costa Smeralda. The ancient town is built on the lines of typical Gallura's architecture. Its territory has been inhabited since prehistoric times, as shown by archaeological sites. It's one of the most important producers of Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, the famous white wine of the northern Sardinia. In its territory there are many farms, called Agriturismi, where you can taste the most authentic traditional cuisine. From here the bus 'Lu Pustali' connects all the surrounding areas, included Cannigione, Baja Sardinia, Porto Cervo and the main beaches of the Costa Smeralda.
